Extension to a House
This building project shows a small 3 meter extension to a bungalow in Surrey, England. It is building law that
residential buildings can be extended by three meters without full planning permission. Buildtech Developments Ltd can
carry out this work, from getting the drawings through building regulations, right up until the job is completed. At which
point your are able to live in your larger and improved home.
A view of the rear elevation of the property. This is the back garden which was cleared of
unnecessary items. The chimney stack has been removed to create more room inside the property.
This image shows the footings for the extension that are complete. The 100mm cavity wall is built to damp proof course.
The sub base is hard-core ready for over site concrete pour.
Brickwork under construction, also can be seen is the concrete over site slab which will be the existing garage that
is getting rebuilt.
The picture shows the brickwork complete, the extension roof and also the rebuild of the garage.
Here the patio to the rear of the extension is under construction. The slabs are Indian stone laid in a random pattern,
with a cobble edge.
This angle shows the patio becoming a path, which is leading to the garage and garden shed.
This picture shows the 3 meter extension completed. The doors that can be seen are bi fold doors and can open right up to
give a three meter opening. The garage is to be converted to a play room and is of a thermerlite block construction
with a waterproof render finish and flat roof. The soiled areas will be lawn and planters.
